Stats & Info.
Natalie Banus made her pin-up
debut at the age of 15, on 6th September 1987 in the British tabloid newspaper
"The Sunday Sport". Photographs appeared of her in bikini bottoms with her arms
folded across her chest, hiding her prominent assets. The front page promised
"just 30 days till Natalie goes topless" and there began the modelling career
of perhaps one of the most published Page 3 Girls. Natalie Jay, her real name,
was born on October 11th 1971 in Hedon, North London. Her mother is British,
and her father is part Italian and part Indian...which explains her exotic
Mediterranean appearance. From an early age Natalie showed promise as a dancer.
As a youngster she took up ballet and decided this would be her career. Natalie
was accepted at the prestigious Royal Ballet School in London at the age of 8
and studied there for five years. However her body had other ideas!
Natalie's impressive physical
development began at 12, no ballet dancer it seems could be that top-heavy.
She left the Royal Ballet School for a stage and theatre boarding school.
Studying there for only two years she would later enrolled at the Italia Conti
Stage School at 15. It was then Natalie decided that some professional
photographs done of her in a bathing suit would help to further her budding
career to the next stage. She was shocked when she learnt afterwards that
her photos had ended up with an agent that deals with models and not dancers.
Natalie was soon convinced that modelling would be an acceptable career and
thus her first pictures appeared in "The Star". The newspaper promised that
she would go topless on her 16th birthday. She had no idea she was going to
be asked to do that! Rather than decline, she went ahead and posed for her
topless debut on her 16th birthday. Her first manager decided to call her
"Natalie Banus" (pronounced BA-noose), to give her a classy sounding name.
Natalie never liked it and would later change back to using her real name
when she left England for Hollywood. She left the Italia Conti School as her
first pictures were being published. Natalie then began to pursue a full-time
career in modelling.
Through out 1988 and 1989
Natalie was the most popular topless model for "The Sunday Sport" and "The
Sport" tabloid newspapers. Unlike their rival tabloid papers, they printed
a huge bevy of topless bombshells instead of just one. Her first international
nude debut at 16 was within the pages of Mayfair in May 1988. And from there
went on to appear in a wide variety of magazines including Penthouse (UK edition),
Parade, Big Ones, and Bounce. In the early 1990's she continued to model
extending her work to foreign publications and calendar work. Like many of her
fellow Page 3 Models she posed full nude for some foreign publications which
never saw British shores. During her modelling career she pursued both her
dancing and singing interests. In 1989 she appeared in the London play "Page 3
Girls" along side co-star Debbie Lindon. Later she landed a small acting part in
the Micheal Winner film "Bullseye". Despite the film headlining stars such
as Micheal Caine, Roger Moore and Patsy Kensit....it went straight to
video. She also graces a couple of scenes in Jim Winowski's "Sins of the
Flesh". In 1990 she released a cover version of Dusty Springfield's "I
Don't Know What to do With Myself" for a techno-dance compilation album.
Natalie's biggest break came
when she moved to Los Angeles, California in 1993. Whilst there she featured
in a variety of music videos including Snoop Doggy Dog's "Dog Pound", House of
Pain's "Who's the Man" and Montell Jordan. But her greatest vvisibilitycame when
she landed a talking part for a nameless female lifeguard role in Baywatch.
She made about ten appearances during the show's 1994-1995 season. She later
appeared in the pilot episode for Baywatch Nights and also in the commercial
for the show. Her biggest role was a character part in the ill-fated
pilot episode of "Frogmen" which co-starred OJ Simpson. Due to OJ's murder trial
at the time the studio shit-canned the series and the pilot episode never aired.
After winding up with Baywatch she took time off for romance with a Spanish
financial investor in Europe. She did some more model work in Italy, but after
six months returned to LA when she broke off her engagement. On her return she
began to plot her musical career again, but she hadn't completely turned her back
on modelling. In 1995 she featured on a CD-ROM called "Tabloid Beauties" by
MacDaddy Entertainment. The photos were taken by George Richardson who had
photographed Natalie throughout her career.
Today it seems that this
exotic, mmultitalentedwoman is still in demand for modelling work. Much of this has
been glamour photography, but as far as I know there has been no new adult
material from her since 1995 to appear in any magazines. She has made occoccasionalpearances in her old stomping ground "The Sport" and "The Sunday
Sport" until around 1996 (exact date is unconfirmed). But, her most recent work to date
has been as a model for the famous art photographer James Elliott. She appears in some his
latest work from 1999! She also features, minus all the glamour, in the voice-coaching video
"Vocal Awareness" by voice-coach Arthur Joseph. Interestingly in the credits she is
billed as "Natalie Seika". Has our marvellous model married or is this a new
celebrity identity? We're all hoping it's the latter.
